Destination Tokyo is a convention based on Japan and its culture. It is organized by the non-profit association Juusan no Hoshi. For more information on this association, please visit its website: www.juusan.ch. We are a group of enthusiasts who want to propose something new in Valais about Japanese culture ^^.

The name Destination Tokyo was chosen after various discussions as each classroom used in the convention is named after one of Tokyo's district. We then decided to shorten it to "De-To" by taking the first two letters for practical reasons. The icing on the cake is that "deto" in Japanese is a derivative of the English word "date" that could be translated into French by "rendez-vous" .... appropriate is it not ?

The first edition of the convention took place in 2012 in the Matze (now destroyed). 700 visitors had come for this premiere. The convention occupied only a surface of 850 m2 at that time. This success has also earned us an award from the City of Sion for our contribution to the cultural diversity of the region.

The second edition gathered 820 visitors. This confirmed that the interest of this event is real and encouraged us to continue the adventure. Unfortunately, there was logistical obstacles on the road to De-To3. The time to get around them, it was too late to organize this third edition in 2014 in good conditions. This is why it was delayed in 2015.

The third edition took place at the college of Creusets in Sion on 24 and 25 October 2015 and gathered 1'104 visitors.

The fourth has been scheduled from 28 to 29 October 2017 to avoid being on the same dates as the SwissFantasyShow (we can only rent the college during the autumn holidays). 1'200 people were there for the weekend. The event occupied an area of 2,500 m2 this time.

Finally, the fifth edition is still at the college of Creusets. It will be October 20 and 21, 2018 !
